easyJet (London Luton) has announced its initial plans to ramp up operations from the French city of Bordeaux Mérignac which will become its sixth base in the country in spring 2018, as announced by the carrier back in October.

Starting April 26, easyJet will roll out new services from its newest base airport starting with Catania (3x weekly), Faro (4x weekly from April 27), Tel Aviv Ben Gurion (2x weekly from April 28), Bastia (2x weekly seasonal service from June 26 to September 1), Luxembourg (4x weekly starting June 26), Irakleion (2x weekly seasonal service from June 27 to September 1) and London Southend to be served 3x weekly starting July 25.

In a joint press release published together with its new base airport, easyJet also confirmed it plans to base a total of three aircraft in Bordeaux in summer 2018.
