FlyEgypt (FT, Cairo International) has signed an agreement with Air Lease Corporation involving the long-term lease of two B737-800s. The Los Angeles-based lessor said in a statement the first of the two aircraft will be delivered by year-end with the second due in January 2018.

"These Boeing 737s will enable FlyEgypt to grow our route network to Europe and the Middle East and also increase our flight schedule frequencies,” Captain Ahmed Talaat, CEO of FlyEgypt, was quoted as saying in the lessor's statement.

FlyEgypt operates a total of four B737-800s on scheduled flights connecting the Egyptian resort towns of Asyut, Alexandria Borg el Arab, Sohag, and Hurghada with various cities around Egypt, Europe and the Middle East including Luxor, Amman Queen Alia, Jeddah International, Kuwait, and Naples Capodichino.
