Austrian business charter specialist GlobeAir (GAC, Linz Blue Danube) intends to launch individual seat sales on its air taxi services in addition to whole-aircraft charters, Flightglobal has reported.

Founder and CEO Bernhard Fragner has said he sees an increased demand for such a service, even though the majority of the company's clients still prefer to charter the whole aircraft. In order to expand into per-seat operations, the company is now developing a mobile booking tool which is expected to be launched during this year's EBACE conference in May, Flightglobal has revealed.

"We now have a digitally literate and sharing generation who want the power to access various services at the touch of a button - from taxis and accommodation through Uber and Airbnb to seats on a private jet," Fragner has said.

Per-seat sales will initially be launched on the carrier's most popular routes, such as Paris Le Bourget-London City. Fragner expects that this will attract new customers who had previously not used air taxi services.

The Austrian business charter specialist currently operates a fleet of sixteen Cessna 510s, the largest fleet of this type globally.
