Waves (Guernsey) is set to modify its operational model in the wake of Blue Islands' decision to pursue legal action against the Guernsey Transport Licensing Authority (GTLA) last month.

In its December filing, Blue Islands had contended that Waves, formally an air taxi company and thus subject to less stringent licensing laws, is, in reality, a scheduled operator and should, therefore, undergo full certification procedures.

In light of the case, the Guernsey Press reports that following consultations with the GTLA, Waves has decided to apply for a full route license and will no longer sell individual seats on its aircraft.

Waves’ Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Barrie Baxter, added that the carrier's Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B, 2-CREW (msn 208B2148), will only be available for ad-hoc charters.
