Business Air Management (Denton) has announced plans to commence operations for California-based subscription carrier Surf Air (URF, Santa Monica) and its Texan unit, RISE (United States of America) (Dallas Love Field).

In its application to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to operate scheduled passenger flights as a commuter air carrier, BAM said it would provide ad-hoc flight services to Rise which will then use the capacity to run regular daily flights between Dallas Love Field, Houston Hobby, Austin-Bergstrom International, and San Antonio International. In addition, based on member demand, BAM may expand its operations to include Midland International, Texas, as well as the Oklahoma City Will Rogers World and Tulsa International markets in Oklahoma.

"While this arrangement closely resembles on-demand Part 135 charter, Business Air feels it is appropriate to obtain Commuter Authorization in order to meet the potential of the need to perform more than 4 round trips to the same city pair, per week to support Rise," BAM said.

Operations will be onboard a combination of Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 200/350s, Learjets, as well as PC-12s which will be provided by Surf Air/Rise.

Prior to this application, BAM had specialized in providing ad-hoc charter operations in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
