Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has announced it will launch a 3x weekly return service from Istanbul Atatürk to Moroni International via Mahé, Seychelles, effective June 16, 2018. The intercontinental flight is the Comorian capital's first since Int'Air Îles (Anjouan) terminated its Dubai International via Dar es Salaam service last year.

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, the Indian Ocean archipelago, located off the eastern coast of Mozambique, sees mostly domestic traffic with a total of 39 weekly round trips to each of Anjouan and Moheli operated by Int'Air Îles. It also receives a number of regional services from Dzaoudzi in Mayotte, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and Antananarivo in Madagascar. It is served by, among others, Air Tanzania, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, and Air Madagascar.
