SpiceJet (SG, Delhi International) has confirmed it will start taking delivery of its first B737-8 from August of this year onwards. It will follow Jet Airways (JAI, Mumbai International) whose maiden MAX 8 is due in June.

According to its FY2016/17 financials, the Indian LCC has orders with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for up to 205 B737MAX. including 155 firm and 50 optioned airframes. and inclusive of MAX 8 and 10 variants. The report also states that SpiceJet also has widebodied aircraft built into the order, possibly conversion-optioned B787s.

SpiceJet was not immediately available for comment.
