Overland Airways (OF, Lagos) is planning to start international flights later this year, airline Chief Operating Officer Aanu Benson has told the Aviation Business Journal.

In an interview, Benson said tentative destinations from its Lagos hub include Cotonou Cadjehoun (Benin), Lomé (Togo), and Niamey (Niger). Although the city-pairs currently feature on the carrier's online reservation portal, they are currently not bookable.

Overland Airways currently operates three ATR42-300s, one ATR42-300(QC), three ATR72-200, and one E145 on scheduled flights connecting its Abuja hub with each of Ilorin, Asaba, Akure, Ibadan, and Lagos (via Ilorin).

Should flights commence, Overland Airways would be Nigeria's fourth locally-based carrier to offer international services behind Arik Air, Air Peace, and Med-View Airline. As previously noted, Dana Air (9J, Lagos) is also considering a return to the international market with the arrival of its B737-700.
