Avianca Holdings has confirmed it has converted into B787-9s, the three B787-8s it was to have taken delivery of from Boeing in 2019.

In its 4Q17 disclosure, the Latin American carrier conglomerate did not expand on where the aircraft, its first of the type, would be placed.

"This will be Avianca’s largest aircraft, enabling us to transport 281 passengers in economy and 28 in business class for a total of 309 passengers," it said.

At present, Avianca (Bogotá) operates the Holdings' entire complement of twelve B787-8s.
