Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) has temporarily parked two additional MD-11F freighters to further cut its capacity following a worldwide slowdown in cargo demand. It is expecting to only use 13 of its 19 MD-11F freighters next winter season. Lufthansa Cargo will move its stops for flights to East Asia from Astana to Krasnoyarsk as of June 1. In other news, it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Astral Aviation (8V/Nairobi Intl) that will provide connection services from Nairobi to Burundi, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. Lufthansa Cargo has wet-leased an A300B4-100F from ACT Airlines (9T/Istanbul Ataturk) for its Frankfurt Intl-Istanbul Ataturk services.
