GIC Pte, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, has reduced its shareholding in VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) to 4.97% and is no longer considered a major shareholder in the budget carrier.

A disclosure to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) on March 29 states GIC sold 265,900 VietJetAir shares thereby reducing its stake from 22,712,310 shares (5.03%) to 22,446,410 (4.97%). The buyer was not disclosed.

Under HOSE regulations, organizations which control less than 5% of a company's shareholding cease to be termed "major shareholders".
