Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) has announced it will be taking over the operation of its franchisor flybe. (2002)'s Aberdeen Dyce-London City route with effect from Monday, May 7, 2018.

Eastern Airways said it would maintain the same weekday frequency of two flights a day in each direction and also a Sunday service. Operations will, however, shift from a Flybe Dash 8-400 to a 50-seater Saab 2000 initially, before growing to a 76-seat E170 jet in the longterm.

“We welcome the opportunity as a franchise partner of Flybe to operate the Aberdeen – London City service, which is part of our strategic business alignment," Mathew Herzberg, Eastern Airways’ Head of Commercial, said. "It’s vital that Europe’s oil capital continues to have a direct link with the city of London, which will commence operations with a Saab 2000 and then switch to a jet service providing a quicker, convenient connection to the heart of the capital.”
