Auric Air (UI, Mwanza) has announced it has resumed scheduled passenger flights to Songea, in southern Tanzania, following Air Tanzania's recent pullout.

Auric Air said in a statement that it is currently offering a 5x weekly return service to Dar es Salaam using its fleet of Cessna (single turboprop) 208B Grand Caravans.

Air Tanzania had previously stated it would only resume Songea flights once issues with the runway there had been satisfactorily addressed.

From its bases at Mwanza, Dar-es-Salaam, and Arusha, Auric Air operates a total of thirteen Cessna Grand Caravans on scheduled flights to Tanzania's major towns and centres as well as more remote and otherwise inaccessible safari camps. It also serves Entebbe in Uganda, Kigali in Rwanda, and Ol Kiombo and Maasai Mara Serena in Kenya.
