Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and major shareholder, Bjorn Kjos, says he has no intention of selling the company despite IAG International Airlines Group's surprise announcement that it intends to court the Scandinavian low-cost carrier over a possible buyout.

Last week, IAG said it had acquired a 4.61% stake in Norwegian as a springboard for talks that may extend to a takeover.

However, Kjos told a media gathering at Norwegian's AGM that although IAG was only one of several suitors that have expressed an interest in his airline, he has no plans to sell.

"I have never considered a sale." he was quoted by Bloomberg. "I want Norwegian to continue."

Through his HBK Invest vehicle, Kjos and Bjorn Kise, Norwegian's chairman, own 26.8% of the carrier's shares.
