West Atlantic (United Kingdom) (NPT, Nottingham East Midlands) has taken delivery of the world's first B737-800(BCF) following the arrival of N346PH (msn 32740) in Nottingham East Midlands on Monday, April 16.

The UK-based freight specialist announced last month that of the four B737-800(BCF)s it has secured on lease from GECAS, the remaining three would arrive in August and November 2018, and in January 2019 respectively.

All four jets will operate under a long-term agreement for and on behalf of FedEx Express on its existing EU-network. The first has been based out of Liège, Belgium.

“We are delighted and proud to have secured a long-term home for our Next Generation fleet in our core market,” West Atlantic Group’s CEO Fredrik Groth said in a statement. “We will now focus all efforts to leverage the NG’s technological advances and efficiency to deliver an excellent service. We are confident that West Atlantic is well positioned in the market going forward is at the forefront of the Next Generation programme.”

West Atlantic (UK) operates an all-Boeing (BOE, Washington National) fleet of six B737-300(F)s, ten B737-400(F)s, and two B737-400(SF)s while sister carrier West Atlantic Sweden (T2, Malmö) operates three B767-200(SF)s, twenty-nine BAe ATP(F)s, and two CRJ(F)s.
