The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has finalized its redistribution of Havana International, Cuba traffic rights following a tentative announcement on March 31.

Following considerations, the DOT said in a statement on Friday, April 21, that as it had received no objections to its earlier decision, it had decided to allocate the four daily and six weekly available frequencies available for scheduled services between the United States and Havana, Cuba, as follows:

United has also applied for operational flexibility to use either its B737 or Republic Airlines E175 aircraft to tailor capacity to demand on its existing New York Newark to Havana flights, which United was awarded during the DOT’s 2016 Allocation Proceeding. United said in a disclosure that it intends to make use of the requested flexibility from September onwards.
