Porter Airlines (P3, Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre) has announced it will establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) base at Sudbury, Ontario, to perform daily checks of the carrier's own fleet of twenty-nine Dash 8-400s.

While the value of the investment has not been disclosed, the Canadian regional specialist has been granted CAD50,000 dollars (USD39,000) aid from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation towards infrastructure improvements. The investment will create eight new full-time jobs in Sudbury.

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Porter Airliens currently operates 19 weekly flights out of Sudbury to Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre. Other carriers serving the airport include Air Canada, Bearskin Airlines, and WestJet.

Porter Airlines has also announced the resumption of summer seasonal services out of Toronto City Centre to each of Mont Tremblant and Stephenville, NL.
