Air Belgium (KF, Brussels Charleroi) has confirmed that its inaugural commercial service will now take place on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
The start-up said in a statement last week that it had now secured trans-Siberian transit rights from the Russian authorities paving the way for it to start flights between its Brussels Charleroi base and Hong Kong International.
"Given the impact of the delayed launch, Air Belgium has been forced to adapt the frequency of its flights to Hong Kong during the launch phase," it said. "The company will offer two flights per week in June, followed by three per week from July onward and, finally, four per week from October onward."
According to CEO Niky Terzakis, Air Belgium will induct a third A340-300 by the end of June and is also preparing to start flights to the Chinese mainland, expected to commence at some point later this year.
