Boutique Air (4B, San Francisco) will terminate its Essential Air Service (EAS) flights out of Massena, NY, to each of Albany, NY and Baltimore International on May 31, 2018, replacing them with a new service to Boston, The Journal has reported.

The change has already been approved by the US Department of Transportation as the currently operated flights have a poor load factor and do not provide much connectivity to passengers.

The new service will be operated 21x weekly, replacing the 14x weekly flights to Albany and 7x weekly to Baltimore.

The carrier has been operating the EAS flights at Massena since April 2017 for a total annual subsidy of USD2,870,608 under a two-year contract. Earlier, the EAS routes at the airport were operated by Cape Air.

In other news, Boutique Air has announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) with a specific focus on Denver International initially. According to ch-aviation analysis of schedule data, the agreement currently already covers routes operated by Boutique from Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson to Muscle Shoals, from Denver to Alamosa, Cortez, Dodge City and McCook, from Minneapolis St. Paul International to Thief River Falls, from Nashville International to Muscle Shoals, and from Portland International to Pendleton.
