Thomas Cook Group has cancelled all holiday packages out of Brussels National to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh after Brussels Airlines (SN, Brussels National), which had operated flights to the destination on behalf of the tour operator, terminated these services due to the security situation, De Tijd has reported.

The Belgian flag carrier has been operating flights on behalf of the tour operator since it has acquired Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium in October 2017.

The Belgian Foreign Ministry still advises the tourists against going to southern Sinai due to the risk of terrorist attacks, with the exception of the hotel zone in Sharm el Sheikh itself.

All affected passengers will be allowed to either change their plans to another destination free of charge or receive a full refund from the tour operator.
