Oman Air (WY, Muscat) Chief Executive Abdulaziz al-Raisi has detailed the 300+ seater widebody aircraft the carrier is looking to order by the end of the year.

Speaking to Forbes magazine, Al Raisi said that from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), Oman Air is looking at the A350-900 and -1000 while from Boeing (BOE, Washington National), it is studying the B787-10.

“A couple of years ago, we were looking at aircraft with 220 to 230 seats," he said. "Today, I am looking at aircraft with over 300 seats. Maybe by next year, or in a couple of years’ time, we will be looking at an aircraft with 380 to 390 seats.”

The aircraft will be used to replace some of Oman Air's A330 fleet. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the airline operates four A330-200s and six A330-300s of which a total of seven (four -200s and three -300s) are over 7 years of age.

Oman Air also operates four B787-8s and three B787-9s. It has a further four -8s and five -9s on order from Boeing.
