Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for twenty CRJ900s. According to the carrier, the aircraft will deliver from late 2018 through to 2020 and will be used to replace older regional jets currently flown by Delta Connection operators.

They will feature Bombardier's new Atmosphère Cabin with a total of 70 seats including 12 in First Class, 20 in Delta Comfort+, and 38 in the main cabin. They will fly on small market routes to and from Delta's domestic hubs.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Delta has 151 CRJ-900s in service through its Endeavor Air, ExpressJet Airlines, GoJet Airlines, and SkyWest Airlines partners.
