Ethiopian Aviation Holding Group has announced it has signed a business partnership agreement with German aircraft interior specialist ACM Aerospace.

In a statement, EAHG said that as part of the tie-up, an EASA Part 21G-certified facility would be opened in Ethiopia which would manufacture and supply aircraft seat covers, safety belts, carpets and other interior parts for ACM Aerospace as part of its supply chain.

“Pursuant to our government’s industrialization policy embedded in the five-year Growth and Transformation Plan (GTPII), we are working in partnership with aircraft manufacturers and other aerospace suppliers to establish and develop labour-intensive aerospace manufacturing industries with a wide portfolio of products," Tewolde GebreMariam, GCEO of Ethiopian airlines, said.

The facility will initially import the necessary fabrics and materials needed to manufacture the final product before eventually producing them locally.
