Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) is planning to deploy its incoming fleet of A350-900s on ultra-longhaul routes with the onset of the upcoming Winter 2018/19 season.

According to Routes Online, the carrier is planning to start 5x weekly Manila Ninoy Aquino International-New York JFK flights with effect from October 28. The service will replace an existing B777-300(ER)-operated route which currently uses Vancouver International as a stopover.

In addition, PAL will deploy its A350s on daily non-stop flights to London Heathrow with effect from October 28.

PAL has six A350-900s on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) with options for six more. This year alone, it is expecting a total of of A350s to deliver the first of which, RP-C3501 (msn 221), is due to deliver on July 14. Thereafter, it is expected to be deployed on short-haul flights to Hong Kong International for crew training purposes, currently scheduled for July 20 to August 31.
