Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen) has announced it will open a new longhaul crew base at Copenhagen Kastrup with the start of the Winter 2018/19 season.

The Nordic budget carrier said in a statement that it would post eighty B787 pilots to the Danish capital with effect from October onwards.

"It was an obvious choice for us to establish a crew base in Copenhagen given the size of our Scandinavian long distance operation today. The base in Copenhagen will help to simplify and strengthen our business and create local jobs," Director (Human Resources), Helga Bollmann Leknes, said.

Norwegian's Copenhagen longhaul operations currently cover Bangkok, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Oakland International, and Orlando International which it serves using a combination of B787-8/9 equipment.
