Drukair (KB, Paro) has placed a firm order with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) for one ATR42-600 which will deliver in July 2019. The acquisition was first announced as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in April this year.
Owned by the Bhutanese government's investment company, Druk Holding & Investments Ltd., Drukair currently operates a single ATR42-500 and three A319-100s. In tandem with the new ATR order, Drukair will also add a single A320neo during the first quarter of 2019.
Operationally, it offers scheduled passenger flights throughout Bhutan as well as to India, Thailand, Bangladesh, Singapore, Nepal, and Hong Kong.
