SalamAir (OV, Muscat) has announced during the 2018 Farnborough Air Show that it will acquire six A320neo, of which five will be leased from an undisclosed third party.
SalamAir will add its first new aircraft, which it is acquiring direct from Airbus, in the fourth quarter of 2018, while the other five will be leased in the first quarter of 2019.
The new fleet will support the Omani low-cost carrier’s network growth plans in the region’s under-served and popular short- to medium-haul routes.

"With the new A320neo addition to our fleet, we look forward to building on this success and expand to new markets while guaranteeing a great travel experience for our passengers.”
Salaam Air is owned by the Muscat National Development and Investment Company (ASAAS) and other Omani private investors. It currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of three A320-200s on scheduled flights to 14 destinations across Oman as well as in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Georgia, and Iran.
