Belavia (B2, Minsk National) has signed long-term lease agreements with Air Lease Corporation for four B737-8s.

The Belarus carrier said it in a statement that the aircraft are sourced from the US-based lessor's Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book with deliveries to run from May 2019 through late 2020. The new MAX will also facilitate the retirement of Belavia's existing fleet of eight B737-300s and six B737-500s while at the same time, allow it to extend its network coverage to more distant destinations.

Aside from its B737 Classic fleet, Belavia also operates five B737-800s, three E175s, four E195s, and one CRJ100 and three CRJ200s.
