Tropic Air (9N, San Pedro, BZ) has said it will resume services to Caye Caulker, an island off the north-western coast of Belize, on November 15, 2018, once the runway reconstruction is finished.

"While we have set November 15 as our resumption date, we are prepared to move that date up if the airport renovation work finishes earlier. We have also improved our schedule to the island, making it more efficient and giving the island dedicated flights and tours. We are also preparing to break ground on a new terminal facility. This will allow us to expand flights to the island over the coming months, perhaps even adding flights at night," CEO Steve Schulte said.

The carrier plans to serve Caye Caulker 35x weekly out of Belize City International and 7x weekly out of San Pedro, BZ using Cessna (single turboprop) 208 equipment.

Caye Caulker is one of the starting points for trips to the Great Blue Hole, a giant marine sinkhole known as one of the world's best diving spots. Tropic Air is the only airline offering scheduled services to the island.
