Trans States Airlines (St. Louis Lambert International) says it has entered into a three-year agreement with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) to operate at least seven more E145s under the United Express regional service brand.

The Missouri-based production carrier said in a press release that additional Embraer regional jets would be the beginning of a long-term commitment to growing the airline's United Express program.

As it stands, the first seven aircraft will be phased into revenue service starting in October of this year, with all aircraft in service by January of 2019.

Trans States currently operates thirty-six ERJ-145s under the United Express banner and is in talks with United to extend the contract by three years. Its current commitment dates back to 2003.

Aside from United, Trans States also operates sixteen ERJ-145s for American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) under the American Eagle banner.
