Swoop (Hamilton, ON) has announced it will commence international flight operations during the final quarter of this year.

The ULCC said in a statement that effective October 11, it would start regular flights to Las Vegas Harry Reid from each of Edmonton International (11x weekly) and Abbotsford (3x weekly). Thereafter, from October 17 onwards, it will offer a 3x weekly Hamilton, ON-Orlando International service followed by a 3x weekly Hamilton-Tampa International service on October 20.

On October 26, it will start regular flights from Hamilton to each of Las Vegas (4x weekly) and Fort Lauderdale International (2x weekly) followed by a 2x weekly return service between Edmonton and Phoenix Williams Gateway on October 27.

A unit of WestJet (WS, Calgary), Swoop currently operates two B737-800s on scheduled flights spanning Abbotsford, Edmonton, Hamilton, Winnipeg International, and Halifax in Canada. It is expected to add a further four aircraft of the type by year-end. The two routes to Las Vegas from both Edmonton and Hamilton as well as the Edmonton-Phoenix Williams Gateway and Hamilton-Orlando routes are being transferred to Swoop from parent WestJet.
