GCA Air (Cali) has taken delivery of the first of six ex-Avior Regional Fokker 50s that are to be sourced from Venezuelan parent Avior Airlines (9V, Barcelona José Antonio Anzoategui).

According to Skyliner Aviation, msn 20188 and 20198 were ferried to Bogotá from Barinas via Caracas Simón Bolivar earlier this week. The two turboprops join three B737-400s that are already in the Colombian capital awaiting the start-up's certification and subsequent launch.

As previously reported, GCA Air, also legally known as Gran Colombia de Aviación SAS, expects to secure its AOC by late September/early October.

Under the terms of its Colombian Operator's Licence (OL), GCA Air can use the B737-400s to run scheduled flights from its Cali base to each of Valencia Arturo Michelena International (7x weekly) and Miami International (7x weekly). The Fokker Aircraft, on the other hand, can be deployed on domestic Colombian flights connecting Cali with each of Ibagué Perales, Tumaco, Guapi, Pasto, Neiva, Barrancabermeja, Bucaramanga, Cartagena Rafael Núñez International, Puerto Asis, and Florencia Gustavo Artunduaga Paredes.
