Tanzanian regional specialist Regional Air Services (8N, Arusha) is set to add a maiden Dash 8-100 to its fleet towards the end of the year.

The likely source of the aircraft, parent carrier AirKenya (P2, Nairobi Wilson), said in a statement the Bombardier Aerospace turboprop would be used to run flights from the Serengeti to Zanzibar.

Regional Air Services currently operates a fleet of six Cessna (single turboprop) 208B Grand Caravans (of which three are leased from Airkenya while one is leased from Federal Air (7V, Durban Virginia)) and one DHC-6-300 (also leased from Airkenya) on scheduled and charter flights between points in the Serengeti and each of Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
