BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City) will add four more E190s to its fleet in 2019 as part of parent carrier British Airways' GBP4.5 billion pound (USD5.79 billion) company-wide investment in its fleet and on-board product.
CityFlyer currently operates six E170s and sixteen E190s on flights from London City (its main base), London Stansted, Manchester International, Edinburgh, Bristol International, and Birmingham, GB to various destinations across the British Isles as well as mainland Europe.
The IAG International Airlines Group carrier said in a statement on Wednesday, August 29, that the four additional Embraer Regional Jets would add nearly 20% more seats to its London City Airport operations in 2019 thus enabling the launch of new destinations.
Among the early additions are the start of a year-round London City-Rome Fiumicino, Italy service from November 11 as well as the addition of a fifth daily flight to Zurich, Switzerland.
