GoAir (Mumbai International) has confirmed it will make its international debut during the final quarter of the year with the launch of regular flights to Phuket in Thailand and Malé in the Maldives.

The privately-owned low-cost carrier said in a statement that, effective October 11, it would serve the Thai resort town 3x weekly from Mumbai International and 2x weekly from Delhi International. Thereafter, effective October 14, it will offer similar flights to Malé; 3x weekly from Mumbai and 2x weekly from Delhi. Both destinations will be connected to Bengaluru International in future.

“It is with great pride that we announce the commencement of our maiden international operations," GoAir chief executive Cornelis Vrieswijk said in a statement. "Phuket and Malé are key tourist destinations and hold a lot of promise. The international schedules have been planned to allow quick and convenient connections for customers and are a reflection of our continued journey towards excellence.”

GoAir operates a fleet of nineteen A320-200s and eighteen A320neo on scheduled flights to 23 towns and cities across India. With its launch of international flights, GoAir joins the likes of Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo Airlines, Jet Airways, and SpiceJet.
