easyJet (London Luton) and Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) signed a cooperation agreement which will allow passengers to combine flights operated by both airlines on a single itinerary.

The agreement covers connections between easyJet and Singapore Airlines at Milan Malpensa, as well as onto Singapore's LCC unit, Scoot, via Berlin Tegel. easyJet said it expects the partnership to go live within the next few months.

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Singapore Airlines operates the Malpensa-Singapore Changi route 6x weekly with a A350-900, while Scoot flies to Berlin 4x weekly with a B787-8.

easyJet itself offers 553 weekly departures to 54 destinations out of Malpensa and 576 weekly departures to 51 destinations out of Tegel.

Speaking to Bloomberg, easyJet CEO Johan Lundgren said the agreement was "risk-free" and offers passengers the benefit of a seamless connection without forcing the airline to join a global alliance.

"We continue to add even more airlines and European airports to ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ with talks already far advanced with Middle-Eastern carriers, amongst others," Lundgren said.

easyJet already has transfer agreements with Norwegian, WestJet, and Neos Air, among others.
