Jeju Air (7C, Jeju) has started to accept commercial cargo on its trunk Jeju-Seoul Gimpo route and expects to carry some 15 tonnes of freight per day using the bellyhold capacity of its B737-800s, the International Transport Journal has reported.

The carrier operates up to 141 weekly round-trips between Jeju and Gimpo, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.

The move comes six years after the South Korean LCC started to accept bellyhold cargo on its international services out of Seoul Incheon.

In the mid-term, Jeju Air is considering to expand its domestic cargo offer to include services out of Jeju to each of Busan and Gwangju.
