Atlas Air (5Y, New York JFK) will add an additional B747-400(F) freighter next month for a new long-term charter agreement. Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has announced that the aircraft would be operating on behalf of Chinese express service provider SF Express on routes between China and the United States.

“SF Express plays a very important role in the growing express and e-commerce industries, and we look forward to providing SF Express and its customers with unmatched service and a platform for future global expansion,” William Flynn, Atlas Air's president and chief executive officer said.

According to ch-aviation fleets data, Atlas' current customer base includes Amazon.com, Asiana Airlines, Boeing, Cathay Pacific, DHL Express, Panalpina World Transport, Qantas Freight, and the United States Air Force.

Atlas is currently the world's largest operator of B747s with fifty-two of the aircraft in its fleet, including four passenger B747-400s, thirty-four B747-400(F)s, four B747-400(LCF)s, and ten B747-8(F)s.
