SKY Airline (Chile) (H2, Santiago de Chile) has taken delivery of its first A320neo, delivered to the Chilean low-cost carrier by Air Lease Corporation from its order book with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).

The unit is the first of three A320neo to be delivered to Sky by ALC and the first of twenty-one A320neo aircraft due from various lessors by 2021.

Sky currently operates thirteen A319-100s and two A320-200s. Its chief executive Holger Paulmann told ch-aviation earlier this week that it would plan to start returning its A319-100s to lessors starting next year. The carrier plans to have all of the aircraft of the type retired by the end of 2020.

The Chilean LCC currently operates both domestically and internationally to Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay with destinations in Brazil to follow later this year. It is also in the process of launching its first international subsidiary, SKY Airline Perú (H8, Lima International).
