Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) has appointed Azorra Aviation to remarket the entire fleet of E190s and E195s still operated by the Brazilian carrier.

Azul said it expected to accelerate its transition to a E195-E2 regional jet fleet as it proceeds with the sale of the E1 generation Embraer jets.

"This advances our initiative to aggressively drive down unit costs, expand margins, and transform our fleet to the newest, most fuel efficient and modern fleet in the industry. We've worked with John Evans and several key members of his current Azorra team on numerous prior E-Jet projects - from leases of our earliest aircraft to the sale of older E-Jets. Azorra is well-positioned and uniquely qualified to help us meet our current E-Jet fleet transitioning objectives," CEO John Rodgerson said.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Azul currently operates nine EMB-190ARs and fifty-four EMB-195ARs. It leases all but one EMB-190 and two EMB-195s from a wide range of lessors. The carrier's regional fleet also includes thirty-three ATR72-600s. The Brazilian airline has thirty EMB-195 E2s on order directly from Embraer.
