Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) has revised its A350 XWB order book converting five A350-900 order slots to larger A350-1000s.

According to Airbus, the revision now brings the Qatari carrier's A350-1000 order backlog to forty-two aircraft with three having thus far been delivered. Qatar Airways has thirty-four A350-900s on order of which twenty-nine have so far been deployed into service.

“Qatar Airways is delighted to have upgraded five of its previously ordered A350-900 to the more recently launched A350-1000," CEO Akbar al Baker said in a statement. "Since taking delivery of the world’s first A350-1000 in February 2018, we have been extremely pleased with the aircraft’s performance, which has prompted us to update our original order."

Overall, excluding optioned aircraft, the carrier has firm orders for seventy-six A350 XWB.
