Paranair (ZP, Asuncion) will begin commercial flight operations on Monday, October 15, after having completed its certification with the Paraguayan civil aviation authority (Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC).

According to ABC, Paranair general manager, Romulo Campos Krauer, told a press conference in Asuncion that flights will initially focus on connecting Asuncion with Buenos Aires, Salta, Montevideo Carrasco, São Paulo Guarulhos, and Curitiba International.

Thereafter, with the onset of the southern Summer Season, the network will be expanded to include Punta del Este, Florianopolis and Rio de Janeiro International. It will also cover the Asunción-Ciudad del Este route. As previously noted, operations are on-board CRJ200 equipment.

Paranair is a joint-venture between Air Nostrum parent firm ILAI (Inversiones Líneas Aéreas Internacionales) and Canada's Avmax Holdings. It is the successor to Amaszonas Paraguay (Asuncion) following Amaszonas' withdrawal.
