Japan Air Commuter (JC, Kagoshima) has taken delivery of its first ATR72-600 following the handing over of JA06JC (msn 1524) on Monday, October 29.
The order for the 70-seater turboprop was announced in June this year as a conversion of an existing ATR42-600 order slot.
The JAL Group unit is an existing operator of ATR - Avions de Transport Régional equipment with five ATR42-600s currently in service alongside two Dash 8-400s (to be retired by year-end) and six Saab 340Bs. It currently runs scheduled flights to 15 cities across Japan.
