Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) has announced its schedule out of Everett with the first commercial service planned to depart from the Boeing home airport on February 11, 2019.

The carrier will initially connect Everett with Las Vegas Harry Reid (from February 11), Los Angeles International, San José, US (both February 12), San Francisco, Portland International (both February 14), Phoenix Sky Harbor, San Diego International (both February 18), and Santa Ana, CA (March 12). All routes will launch as daily services, although the carrier plans to increase the frequency on some of the services shortly after the launch. Flights out of Everett will be operated by Alaska's subsidiary Horizon Air onboard E175 aircraft.

Meanwhile, Southwest Airlines (WN, Dallas Love Field) has decided not to launch services from Everett for the time being and traded its gates at the facility to Alaska Airlines. United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) still plans to enter the airport but has yet to announce its schedule.

While Everett sees a significant number of operations related to Boeing's widebody assembly plant located by the airport and considerable general aviation traffic, it currently has no scheduled services. Tenant Propeller Investments is currently developing a passenger terminal, following a decision by the Snohomish County authorities to allow scheduled operations at Everett.

Propeller Investments and the local authorities have eyed opening Everett to scheduled traffic for nearly four years but faced opposition from the local residents worried about noise and pollution levels.

For Alaska, Everett will serve as a secondary gateway to its key market, the Seattle metropolitan area. The carrier already operates 2,134 weekly departures out of Seattle Tacoma International, where it has a 53.1% market share by capacity, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.
