Adria Airways (Ljubljana) has received an additional capital injection of EUR4 million euros (USD4.5 million) from its owner, investment fund 4K Invest.

The Slovenian flag carrier said in a statement that the additional funds will be used for "further business development".

Earlier in October, 4K Invest committed to injecting at least an additional EUR10 million euros (USD11.4 million) into the Slovenian flag carrier.

The announcement came shortly after reports had surfaced in the Slovenian media about the allegedly poor financial standing of the carrier. The Slovenian aviation authority also ordered Adria Airways to recapitalise by the end of 2018. The airline denied that its liquidity was ever threatened.
