Dana Air (9J, Lagos) has suspended flights as it is currently undergoing recertification with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and is not presently authorised to conduct operations, Punch has reported. The carrier's chief executive officer, Jacky Hathiramani, has since confirmed to ch-aviation that the carrier has temporarily suspended operations.

"Dana Air is actually concluding the renewal process of their certification. And since the old certification has expired, they have to complete and conclude the renewal process before they start flying. They are currently concluding this process and are at the last stages. So any moment from now everything will be okay," an NCAA official said regarding the certification process.

Dana Air said that it will seek to transfer its passengers through cooperation with other Nigerian airlines. On November 27, some of Dana Air's customers were flown on board a MaxAir (Nigeria) (VM, Katsina) flight for example.

The Nigerian carrier currently deploys one MD-82 and four MD-83s on an exclusively domestic network out of Lagos and Abuja.
