Royal Flying Doctor Service (Sydney Kingsford Smith) took delivery of its first PC-24 in the form of VH-VWO (msn 105) during a handover ceremony at the Pilatus Aircraft (PCH, Buochs) factory on November 26, 2018.

The Australian medevac operator simultaneously took another unit of the type. The aircraft will be based out of Broome and Perth Jandakot and will commence operations in early 2019. In February 2019, RFDS expects to take delivery of the third aircraft, which will be based out of Adelaide International.

The aircraft will allow the medevac operator to significantly reduce travel times between remote locations across Australia.

RFDS is the world's first operator of a medevac-configured PC-24. The newest Pilatus jet entered into service in early 2018.

The airline already operates thirty-one Pilatus PC-12 turboprops.
