Sun Country Airlines (SY, Minneapolis St. Paul International) is planning to relocate its headquarters from an office space in Eagan, MN, to the airline's hangar at Minneapolis St. Paul International airport, StarTribune has reported.

The relocation is meant to save costs and improve the efficiency of the airline. The airline has already initiated talks with the relevant authorities in order to secure the necessary permits. The hangar at the western side of the Minnesotan gateway is already being converted into an office space.

"It is not a done deal. We are planning to consolidate our [two] Twin Cities locations into a single location,” Sun Country spokeswoman Kirsten Wenker said.

The airline has yet to decide how many employees it could fit into the converted hangar. The costs and the timeline of the investment have not been decided yet, either.

Earlier in November, the leisure specialist secured an additional USD28 million in additional funding from the market, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal has reported.
