Alliance Air (India) (9I, Delhi International) will dry-lease two ATR42-600s due for delivery to the carrier in the second half of 2019, The Economic Times has reported.

The fully owned regional subsidiary of Air India would also be open to earlier deliveries if possible, a source said.

The two new ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops will replace two older generation units returning to the lessor at the end of March 2019. Alliance Air currently operates two ATR42-300s owned by ABRIC Leasing and managed by ACIA Aero, which are 24-year-old, as well as sixteen ATR72-600s which are just 2.4-year-old on average.

Alliance Air currently operates 324 weekly flights mostly connecting Delhi International with regional cities in India. It flies exclusively on behalf of its parent.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, there are currently no ATR42-600s operated in India.
