Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) is planning to start phasing out its eleven E195LRs operated by its regional subsidiary Aeronova (X5, Valencia Manises) under the Air Europa Express brand in 2021, Air Transport World has reported.

The Spanish carrier is currently transitioning to an all-Boeing fleet and is planning to completely phase out regional jets in the long term.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Air Europa's narrowbody fleet currently includes twenty-one B737-800s. The carrier also has twenty B737-8s on order with the manufacturer.

Aeronova also operates six ATR72-500s on behalf of its parent, while Air Europa itself wet-leases one ATR72-500 and four -500s from Swiftair (WT, Madrid Barajas).

The carrier told ch-aviation that it planned to keep "some" of the ATRs for its short-haul flights in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

As a part of its transition to an all-Boeing jet fleet, the carrier is also planning to retire its ten A330-200s and two A330-300s, which are being replaced with B787s. By 2023, the carrier's long-haul fleet will consist exclusively of Boeing units. Currently, Air Europa operates eight B787-8s and two B787-9s, and has a further seven -9s on order.
